The latest beta of iPadOS 17 and iOS 17 (beta 5) fixed the issue with the new drawing tools (monoline, water color, fountain pen, and crayon).

Please make sure your iPadOS/iOS 17 beta device is up-to-date. To do so:

  1. In your device’s settings, tap General

  2. Tap About

  3. Tap iPadOS Version – you should see iPadOS 17.0 (21A5303d). If you don’t see this, please update your device before proceeding.

Changelog

  • Re-added the iOS 17-specific inks (monoline, watercolor, fountain pen, crayon)

  • Added new tool icons for the iOS 17-specific inks

  • Added more logging for iCloud sync errors

  • Fixed a bug where editing a tool to use a different kind of pen would use the old pen’s width

Known issues

  • In iOS 17, the selection lasso still does not function
