iCloud Sync: Still Not Working. 2 years later, still no solution!

As a new member and subscriber to the Penbook App and community, this is discouraging and disappointing to see that I’m experiencing a problem that many in the community suffered 2 years ago.

I don’t understand why it has not been resolved, and worse, when I reached out to support on multiple occasions, the troubleshooting recommended were all the same as 2 years ago!

I mean, it’s a great app, and should be the best in the category with it’s architecture and features, but if a simple cloud sync isn’t even possible, that makes all the great points moot imo.

I think the iCloud sync feature should be removed if it does not work predictably and reliably. Otherwise it sets false expectations, and leads to customer dissatisfaction. Not product or service can survive a dissatisfied customer base. As someone in tech, if you can’t provide support for a feature, it should be discontinued.

The sync is reliant on iCloud and for most people it works without any problems. Unfortunately, some run into problems and can be related to a slew of problems: incorrect iCloud access permissions, no free space on iCloud, the device silently logging out apps out of iCloud and needing the login to be redone, etc. We’ve also talked to Apple developer support and are constantly making the app more resilient so it can detect these problems and sometimes work around them.
