Hello penbook
Just got your app today. Sprung for the year because I’m turning into a digital note taking nerd.
I don’t like forums, so take it as a complement to your app that I’m taking this step. The writing experience is really good!
There are a few things that really put me off though. Apologize if my forum etiquette isn’t very good, I post out of care
For reference, I use notability, goodnotes and apple notes. I use all three because they each have their pros and cons and I really just want one app that does everything I need. I use notability for work, Apple notes for information storage and YouTube learning videos, and Goodnotes for personal organizing.
To the point. The biggest thing I wish your app had is a way to select different pens or at least the eraser from the pencil pro half wheel thing that comes up when you squeeze the Apple Pencil pro. That would let me keep the toolbar minimizes the whole time. The separate wheels for color and pen tip width is awesome! I envision even one more layer to select pen tip’s and the eraser. With that, all I need to do is squeeze my pencil and I can have all the tools I need. Frankly, just that would be awesome and fix my biggest issue.
A dark mode or themes (ala CollaNote) would be cool too
Looking forward to seeing this app grow. I’m an avid user of apps like these, hoping to see this come to a place I can dump Goodnotes and notability. I don’t like the writing experience or the tools on notability, but the UI is super quick, easy and streamlined which is why I use it for work. I like Goodnotes writing experience and most of the tools, but the UI is too clunky and involved for my needs. Your app strikes a good balance, but I hate having that toolbar either in the way, or constantly having to put it back just so I can select a different pen or the eraser. Drives me nuts.
